Netflix is removing all 5 seasons of Blindspot sooner than expected

Netflix’s library is always shifting, but some changes sting more than others. For fans of high-stakes mystery dramas, one of the most addictive crime thrillers is about to depart from the platform sooner than many expected. All five seasons of Blindspot are currently scheduled to leave Netflix in the United States on June 7, 2026.

The removal comes as a surprise because the NBC show only arrived on Netflix US last summer. The complete series was added on June 7, 2025, meaning the streaming giant licensed the show for just one year before preparing to remove it again.

For subscribers who recently discovered the show through Netflix’s recommendation algorithm or streaming charts, the news is especially frustrating. Blindspot quickly became one of those series that viewers couldn’t stop talking about once they started watching. The show’s constant twists, cliffhangers, action sequences, and serialized mysteries made it perfect binge-watch material, and it helped it find an entirely new audience years after its original network run ended.

But sadly, fans will have to look elsewhere to stream the beloved crime thriller once it leaves Netflix next month. As of now, no new streaming home for Blindspot has been officially confirmed. However, you will still have the option to buy individual episodes or complete seasons via digital platforms.

What is Blindspot on Netflix about?

Created by Martin Gero, Blindspot originally premiered on NBC in September 2015 and quickly became one of the network’s most talked-about new dramas. Gero, who previously worked on shows like Stargate Atlantis and The L.A. Complex, built Blindspot around an irresistible central mystery that immediately hooked viewers from its very first scene.

The series opens with one of the most memorable pilots of the 2010s. In the middle of Times Square, the FBI discovers a duffel bag abandoned in public. When the bag suddenly begins to move, authorities cautiously unzip it and uncover a woman inside with no memory of who she is or how she got there. Even more shocking, her entire body is covered in intricate tattoos, and one of them contains the name of FBI Special Agent Kurt Weller.

That woman becomes known as Jane Doe, played by Jaimie Alexander in one of the actress’s most recognizable television roles. Jane’s amnesia instantly turns her into both the center of the mystery and the key to solving it. As the FBI begins investigating the tattoos, they discover that each marking contains clues connected to future crimes, hidden conspiracies, terrorist threats, murders, and dangerous criminal organizations.

Sullivan Stapleton stars opposite Alexander as Kurt Weller, the FBI agent who becomes Jane Doe’s closest ally. Additionally, the cast includes Rob Brown, Audrey Esparza, Ashley Johnson, Ukweli Roach, Marianne Jean-Baptiste, Luke Mitchell, Michelle Hurd, Archie Panjabi, Ennis Esmer, Mary Elizabeth Mastrantonio, and others.

Hopefully, Netflix will reacquire streaming rights to Blindspot in the future. While having the option to purchase the show is great, there’s just nothing like being able to stream all five seasons in one place and dive straight into the story without any friction.

I mean, part of what made Blindspot so addictive on Netflix in the first place was the convenience of binge-watching its tightly connected mysteries back-to-back. But for now, that experience is about to come to an end on the platform. With all 100 episodes scheduled to leave Netflix on June 7, viewers are officially on the clock if they want to revisit the series or finally start it before it disappears!
