Imperfect Women has just unveiled its Emmy strategy, and the three women at the center of the limited series are splitting up.
Kerry Washington, who plays Eleanor, will be the series’ sole lead actress entry, while Elisabeth Moss (Mary) and Kate Mara (Nancy) will be submitting as supporting actress, Gold Derby can confirm exclusively.
Joel Kinnaman, Corey Stoll, and Leslie Odom Jr. will all be submitted as supporting actor in a limited series.
The series is based on the book by Araminta Hall about three longtime friends whose lives are shattered when one of them is murdered — leaving the other two to solve the crime and face long-held secrets. Washington and Moss shepherded the project to the screen as executive producers, and brought on Mara, as well as the other cast members. Moss will also be contending as a guest actress for Hulu’s The Testaments.
In the writing and directing race, the team made the strategic decision just to submit one episode, choosing director Lesli Linka Glatter’s episode 105, titled “Louise,” and showrunner Annie Weisman’s pilot episode 101, titled “Eleanor.”
