EXCLUSIVE: Moby and Lindsay Hicks of Little Walnut have signed on as executive producers for Nicolas Athane and Marco Nguyen’s animated feature film Jim Queen, which is world premiering at Cannes this evening.
Directed by Nicolas Athane and Marco Nguyen, Jim Queen was written by Athane with Simon Balteaux and Brice Chevillard. The film is produced by David Alric and Arthur Delabays. Arthur Cohen, Moby and Lindsay Hicks executive-produce. French outfit Bobbypills produces.
The synopsis reads: “A gay influencer’s life crumbles when a virus turns Paris’s gay men straight. He teams up with a twink to find a rumored cure in the Marais district.” The team posted a short clip to instagram this week, which clocked 1.6M views in 48 hours.
The deal was brokered by executive producer Arthur Cohen. Global Constellation represents worldwide sales.
Musician Moby commented: “When Lindsay and I started Little Walnut, our dream was to find smart, interesting, unique, funny movies with strong breakout potential to help produce. And Jim Queen is 100% all of those things.”
Lindsay Hicks added: “From the moment I laid eyes on Jim Queen, I knew I wanted to be a part of his world. This film encompasses the heart, wit, boldness, and visual ambition we’re always looking to support. We’re excited to help build the film in a way that preserves what makes it so very special while also thinking expansively about its future.”
Marco Nguyen also commented: “As the world grows more divided, nothing feels more uniting than a film that makes you laugh at yourself and love the person next to you.”
Little Walnut most recently signed as co-executive producers for the non-fiction film Welcome Space Brothers, about The Unarius Academy of Science, an extraterrestrial-channeling spiritual school, self-healing community, and filmmaking collective. They are also co-producers on Selah, a short film from Lara Everly premiering at Tribeca 2026.
The company develops and produces films, documentaries, music-driven projects, and immersive experiences.
