The Hunting Wives Season 2 Episode Titles Tease an Explosive Return

Starring Malin Ackerman and Brittany Snow, The Hunting Wives was one of the biggest success stories on Netflix in 2025. The East Texas drama will return to Netflix in 2026 with 8 all-new episodes. Now we have episode titles to share.

Provocative, alluring, and packed with drama, The Hunting Wives was a standout series for Netflix in 2025. In our positive review, we loved it, writing: “It strikes a fine balance between drama, mystery, and comedy — but everything is all wrapped up in its overriding blanket of seductiveness.” We even held a big interview with stars Malin Akerman and Brittany Snow.

Set in Texas, The Hunting Wives follows Sophie O’Neil (Brittany Snow), who moves from Cambridge, Massachusetts, to Maple Brook, Texas, with her family, comprised of husband Graham (Evan Jonigkeit) and their son. At their new home, they aim for a fresh start to their lives; leaving Sophie’s mysterious, traumatic past behind. However, Sophie soon gets involved in a group of mischievous wives, and it’s not long before the vices she tried to move away from begin to resurface.

The ending of The Hunting Wives season 1 was explosive to say the least. Notably, Margo murdered Abby to hide her affair with Abby’s boyfriend Brad. Additionally, Sophie, in a drunken state, runs over Margo’s brother Kyle in self-defense, throwing the body off a cliff.

The official longline for season 2 reads: “At the start of Season 2, Sophie and Margo are on the outs. But soon enough, old secrets and new foes force them back together. As they play their dangerous games, the question arises. Are they the hunters or the hunted?”

The Hunting Wives Season 2 Episode Titles

Let’s dig into it – here’s the episode titles for the eight episodes that’ll make up season 2. Please note that we currently do not know the chronological order of these titles, so we’ve listed them in alphabetical order.

  • Back in the Saddle
  • Dead Ringer
  • Freak on a Leash
  • Good Luck, Babe!
  • Last Dance
  • Riders on the Storm
  • Scared Straight
  • Sonny Came Home

What do these titles tell us about Season 2?

Warning: The following section contains spoilers. Proceed with caution!

Naturally, these titles alone are pretty eclectic at face value. However, if we look back to Season 1 titles, a few of them were inspired by music — look no further than Sunrise Tells the Story and Deep in the Heart of Texas. It seems like Season 2 titles take even heavier pop music inspirations.

It’s relatively safe to assume that Back in the Saddle is the premiere. At the end of season 1, Sophie and Margo are at odds after Sophie runs over Margo’s brother, Kyle, to defend herself. This title no doubt refers to Sophie trying to continue after the damaging events of the finale. The title also refers to a famous song by Aerosmith.

Meanwhile, the title Sonny Came Home is undoubtedly a reference to the classic 1990s song by Shawn Colvin (a musician who has a strong connection to Texas). The song is a metaphor about leaving your past behind, something that echoes Sophie’s story. Colvin’s song is titled Sunny Came Home rather than the show’s title Sonny Came Home, which could hint at the arrival of a new character called Sonny.

Sticking with musical influences, the title Dead Ringer is almost certainly in reference to Texas rockstar Meat Loaf’s 19081 hit Dead Ringer for Love. Other examples include Freak on a Leash (a 1999 song by Korn), Last Dance (a 1978 song by Donna Summer), and Riders on the Storm (a 1971 song by The Doors), Sacred Straight (a 2003 song by The Long Winters), Good Luck, Babe! (a 2024 song by Chappell Roan).

The Hunting Wives Season 2 debuts on Netflix later this year. Did we miss any potential hints within the episode titles? Tell us in the comments down below!
