The tech world of The Audacity is so vicious that the AMC drama can verge on dark comedy at times, so naturally when it came to its For Your Consideration campaign, the freshman drama needed something as toxically competitive as its billionaire characters.
Gold Derby got an exclusive preview at some of the FYC campaign materials for The Audacity, which includes wraps on food-delivery robots and lightly threatening coffee cup sleeves. The messaging on all of the materials puts a cutthroat, tech-y spin on familiar Emmy campaigning messages that makes “For Your Consideration” more of a threat than an offering.
“Consider this show, or we’ll share you passwords,” the coffee sleeve bearing the faces of lead actors Billy Magnussen and Sarah Goldberg.

Another version of the coffee sleeve takes aim directly as voters and caffeine drinkers, saying “We know your coffee order… and what shows you voted for.”

Magnussen’s Duncan Park also pops up on the underside of the food delivery robot’s lid with a special message. “We just stole all your data,” the sign reads.

The rollout of the FYC campaign comes with confirmation of The Audacity‘s above-the-line submissions. Magnussen and Goldberg (who plays Park’s compromise therapist) are both running as leads. The Supporting Actor and Supporting Actress categories are filled out by other members of the large ensemble, including Zach Galifianakis, Simon Helberg, Rob Corddry, Paul Adelstein, Everett Blunck, Lucy Punch, and Meaghan Rath.
