The debut season of 9-1-1‘s new spin-off 9-1-1: Nashville is officially in the books, and Season 1 introduced fans of the OG series to the 113, showed us all there is to love about Music City, delivered a major 9-1-1 crossover episode, featured surprising guest stars, and more!

With TV shows getting canceled left and right as networks firm up their future slates, 9-1-1: Nashville fans will understandably be curious about the fate of ABC’s new first responder drama. So here’s everything we know about the future of 9-1-1: Nashville!

9-1-1: Nashville Season 1, Episode 18, “Intrusive Thoughts,” saw Blythe (Jessica Capshaw) and Don (Chris O’Donnell) continue to navigate their relationship drama, plus the 113 saved Noah Cyrus from a sound check emergency. (Yes, really!) When the end credits roll, fans of ABC’s new first responder drama will be eager to see more. The question is, will they get it?!

Curious if ABC canceled or renewed 9-1-1: Nashville already? Will there be a 9-1-1: Nashville Season 2? If so, how many episodes will be in 9-1-1: Nashville? And when will 9-1-1: Nashville Season 2 premiere? Read on for info.

Will There Be A 9-1-1: Nashville Season 2 on ABC?

You bet! The 9-1-1-verse is still going strong. On March 5, ABC renewed both 9-1-1 and 9-1-1: Nashville. So while their current seasons are ending, fans of the 9-1-1 universe can rest easy knowing we haven’t seen the last of the 113 or the 118.

Shortly after their renewals, ABC reported that both series “rose to season highs in Live+Same Day viewership while also notching impressive gains over three days of multiplatform viewing on ABC, Hulu, Hulu on Disney+ and digital platforms.” With millions of people tuning in to watch the freshman and established dramas, it’s no wonder the network wants more — and so do fans!

9-1-1: Nashville Season 2 Premiere Date: When Does 9-1-1: Nashville Return With New Episodes?

Since Season 1 just ended, an official 9-1-1: Nashville Season 2 premiere date has yet to be announced. We’ll have to wait until ABC reveals its fall 2026 primetime TV schedule to know exact details, and if 9-1-1: Nashville will continue airing Thursdays at 9:00 p.m. ET. But 9-1-1 Season 8’s finale aired in May 2025 and Season 9 premiered in October 2025. So it’s safe to assume 9-1-1 and 9-1-1: Nashville will be back with new episodes in the fall.

Decider will be sure to update this article as new 9-1-1: Nashville Season 2 (and 9-1-1 Season 10) updates and premiere date info are revealed.

How Many Episodes Will Be In 9-1-1: Nashville Season 2?

Like 9-1-1: Nashville Season 1 and 9-1-1 Season 9 before it, Season 2 of the ABC drama will likely consist of 18 episodes again. But as we said, we won’t know for sure until it’s announced. So stay tuned!

9-1-1: Nashville Season 2 Cast: Ryan Phillipe Crashes Music City

9-1-1 Season 2 will definitely be teased in finale post-mort interviews, but there’s one BIG change fans can expect in the sophomore season. Ryan Phillippe is joining the cast! As Deadline reported on April 20, Phillippe is joining the first responder drama as a series regular and reportedly has a multi-year deal.

Here’s how Deadline describes his role: “…A brilliant, iconoclastic detective who moves to Nashville from New York. A seductive bad boy with a past, he’ll stir up all kinds of juicy drama with our first responders while leading an investigation into a mysterious criminal tormenting Nashville on a biblical scale.” What a hook!

Phillippe will bring even more serious star power to the 9-1-1 spinoff, and his induction into the 9-1-1 universe opens a door for a potential I Know What You Did Last Summer reunion with OG series star Jennifer Love Hewitt. The 51-year-old actor amassed nearly 80 film and TV credits since kicking off his on-screen career in 1993. He’s well-known for Cruel Intentions, Shooter, Crash, and more major titles. (Also never forget he had a perfect role selling Ryan Phillippe Steaks in I Love That for You. RIP!)

9-1-1: Nashville Season 1 is now streaming on Hulu.
