Fubo, a leading sports-centric live television streaming service, announced today the development of a new AI Assistant designed to transform how subscribers interact with their recorded content. The innovative feature will allow users to search through DVR recordings for specific sporting events using natural, casual conversation, marking a significant step forward in personalizing the streaming experience for sports fans.

The AI Assistant represents the latest advancement in Fubo’s ongoing commitment to integrating artificial intelligence into its platform, matching that of its partner Disney. By moving beyond rigid voice commands or manual navigation menus, the tool understands everyday language requests, such as descriptions of key plays, player performances, or memorable sequences from live events. Subscribers will simply speak or type in relaxed phrases, and the system will quickly surface relevant clips from extensive DVR libraries filled with hours of sports programming. This capability addresses a common frustration among sports viewers who often spend considerable time scrubbing through recordings to locate standout moments.

Fubo has built its reputation as a premier destination for live sports, offering extensive coverage of major leagues including the NFL, NBA, MLB, NHL, and international soccer competitions. With thousands of channels and events available, the volume of DVR content can become overwhelming for households that record multiple games simultaneously. The new AI Assistant streamlines this process, delivering precise results that enhance convenience and deepen engagement with favorite teams and athletes. Early indications suggest the feature will significantly reduce search times and improve overall satisfaction for dedicated sports streamers.

The company plans an initial rollout of the AI Assistant this fall on key platforms: Roku devices, Apple TV, and mobile applications for iOS and Android. This phased launch strategy ensures broad accessibility for a large portion of its subscriber base from day one. Following the sports-focused debut, Fubo intends to expand the technology to encompass news and entertainment programming, creating a unified search experience across diverse content categories. Users could eventually query everything from breaking news segments to favorite scenes in series or documentaries using the same conversational approach.

Fubo’s announcement comes at a time when consumer expectations for smart features in streaming platforms are rising rapidly. The integration of natural language processing into DVR search represents a meaningful evolution from traditional electronic program guides and basic search functions. By enabling casual conversation as the primary interface, Fubo aims to create a more human-like interaction that feels seamless and responsive.
