Another opening, another show, another Tony Awards. The curtain rises on the nominees for the 2026 American Theatre Wing’s Antoinette Perry “Tony” Awards on Tuesday with some 30 shows jockeying for the love and attention of America’s theater elite. Cats: The Jellicle Ball, Death of a Salesman, The Lost Boys, Oedipus, and Schmigadoon! are expected to be among the lucky musicals, plays, and revivals scoring nominations across 26 ultra-competitive categories.
And a pair of Tony veterans will be on hand to announce this morning’s nominations — Tony nominee Uzo Aduba and Tony winner Darren Criss. The duo will reveal a select number of nods live on CBS Mornings at 8:30 a.m. ET/5:30 a.m. PT, with the rest of the categories being announced at 9 a.m. ET/6 a.m. ET on the official Tony Awards YouTube page. The 79th edition of the ceremony will be held on June 7 at Radio City Music Hall with Pink serving as emcee.
In addition to the nominees, the 2026 Tony Awards will also honor three Broadway icons with lifetime achievement statuettes. Former artistic director of Lincoln Center Theater, André Bishop; Tony-winning lighting designer Jules Fisher; and Tony-winning playwright and director James Lapine are the trio being feted for their contributions to American theater.
