Radial Entertainment has acquired worldwide distribution rights to The Isolate Thief, the latest Western from Nashville-based Hideout Pictures which previously achieved success in the genre with Old Henry.
Directed by John Suits (3022) and written by Kevin Lefler, the picture stars Mackenzie Foy (Interstellar) Odeya Rush (Lady Bird), Jack Kesy (The Killer), Ty Simpkins (The Whale), Martin Sensmeier (Frybread Face and Me) with Joe Pantoliano (Bad Boys for Life) and Sean Bean (The Lord of the Rings franchise).
Set in a bitter cold winter during the Civil War, the film revolves around a young woman who becomes the lone caretaker of a remote Union Army outpost. When a stash of stolen gold falls into her lap, a gang of vicious outlaws comes looking for it. As they turn her home into a battleground, she must stay one step ahead of them in order to survive
Jordan Fields, Senior Vice President of Acquisitions at Radial Entertainment, and Shannon Houchins, Co-Founder of Hideout Pictures, announced the deal, which marks a fresh collaboration after they worked together on Old Henry.
The film is produced by Houchins along with Vince Jolivette, Travis Mann and Margaret Miller. Dave Roberts, Trevor O’Neil, Potsy Ponciroli, and Noor Ahmed are serving as executive producers.
Radial Entertainment has secured exclusive distribution rights to the movie including theatrical, home entertainment (digital, video-on-demand, broadcast, linear streaming, and physical media), and ancillary rights for cross-platform releases.
The company plans a strategic multi-platform rollout beginning with a U.S. theatrical release later this year.
“The Isolate Thief is a unique Western, traditional in the best ways and unconventional in the best ways,” said Fields. The tension, action, compassion and frontier spirit are blended to perfection by fiercely talented people in front of and behind the camera. We’re confident this will resonate with audiences the way our previous collaboration with Hideout, Old Henry, did.”
Houchins said Hideout’s return to the Western genre was by popular demand, following Old Henry. Directed by Potsy Ponciroli and starring Tim Blake Nelson that film world premiered at the Venice Film Festival in 2021.
It went on to be feted as the best feature film of the 2021 Almería Western Film Festival and made it onto the National Board of Review’s annual list of the Top Ten Independent Films that same year.
“Since Old Henry, we’ve been constantly asked when we’d return to the Western genre. It was important to us to preserve what made that film special, which is why we prioritized keeping the same team intact. We’re thrilled to once again be working with Jordan and the Old Henry team at Radial” said Houchins.
The deal was negotiated by Radial Entertainment’s Fields and by Noor Ahmed, Head Of Business Affairs for Hideout Pictures.
Radial Entertainment was formed last July by L.A.-based Oaktree Capital Management, out of the merger of its acquisitions Shout! Studios and FilmRise brands, which continue to operate as separate brands.
