Hollywood is mourning a shocking loss.

Patrick Muldoon—known for his roles on Days of Our Lives and Melrose Place—died suddenly on April 19, his manager confirmed to Variety. He was 57.

Muldoon’s sister Shana Muldoon-Zappa told TMZ the actor died from a heart attack, which occurred while he was in the shower at his home. Muldoon-Zappa said her brother was discovered by his girlfriend, Miriam Rothbart.

Muldoon began his acting career while he was still in college at the University of Southern California—where he played on the football team—with a two-episode role in the sitcom Who’s the Boss?

Upon graduating, he became even more well known with a three-episode arc playing Jeffrey Hunter, the once-boyfriend of Tiffani Thiessen’s Kelly Kapowski on Saved by the Bell.

In 1992, Muldoon was cast as Austin Reed on the soap opera Days of Our Lives, originating the role until 1995. He returned more than 10 years later to reprise the role from 2011 to 2012.

The actor also worked on Melrose Place, portraying villain Richard Hart from 1995 to 1996.
