After a 10-day, 695,000-mile journey, NASA’s historic Artemis II mission is returning to Earth today— a Netflix representative has once again confirmed you will be able to watch the entire thing live on Netflix in addition to a myriad of other choices that remain available.

The four-person crew of the Orion spacecraft—Commander Reid Wiseman, Pilot Victor Glover, Mission Specialist Christina Koch, and Canadian Space Agency (CSA) Mission Specialist Jeremy Hansen—is set to splash down off the coast of San Diego on Friday, April 10, 2026.

This event marks the conclusion of a monumental mission. Lifting off from the Kennedy Space Center on April 1, the crew became the first astronauts to journey around the moon in more than 50 years, traveling farther into deep space than any humans before them.

As we previously covered when Netflix first announced the addition of NASA livestreams last year to the platform, the streaming giant has been carrying NASA’s live feeds directly in its interface. This allows subscribers to watch rocket launches, real-time ISS views, and deep-space missions right alongside their favorite original series. That said, Netflix streamed only once in 2025 and missed the Artemis II launch. When we queried Netflix about the Artemis II, they told us they had no current plans, but a few days later, that’d all changed, and a NASA representative told us the Lunar Flyby would be streamed.

Earlier this week, Netflix broadcast the historic April 6 lunar flyby for 10 hours, which captured massive global interest. According to FlixPatrol data, the first live stream successfully broke into the Netflix Top 10 across several international regions:

  • Ecuador: #5
  • Guatemala: #8
  • Canada: #9 (this one makes sense given that one of the astronauts is Canadian!)
  • Paraguay: #9
  • Cyprus: #10
  • Greece: #10
  • Slovakia: #10

(If you missed the lunar flyby, a replay of the historic moment is currently available to stream on Netflix).

Netflix’s livestream doesn’t provide anything other streams have (with the exception of the Netflix logo in the bottom-left corner). The stream was notably delayed compared to other streams available online, and many users around the globe suffered from continuing livestream problems, with some met with test cards, buffering, or the dreaded, “Thanks for your patience – Hang tight. We’ll resume shortly.”

How and When to Watch the Splashdown

Today, Friday, April 10, 2026, standard Netflix subscribers can tune in at 6:30 p.m. EDT (3:30 p.m. PDT) for the live Artemis II splashdown broadcast to hear from the recovery team—including the crew surgeon, a US Navy diver, and the ship’s captain—before the Orion capsule’s estimated 8:07 p.m. EDT splashdown off the coast of San Diego. Once it lands in the Pacific Ocean, Navy divers will secure the spacecraft, and the astronauts will be transported via helicopter to the USS John P. Murtha for immediate medical evaluations. Following these initial checks, the crew will head back to NASA’s Johnson Space Center in Houston, Texas, having successfully paved the way for future lunar landings.

As we covered last time, Netflix is in addition to all the other places that NASA streams currently, which include their website, YouTube, and HBO Max in the United States.
