These days, the words “reboot,” “remake,” or “revival” have a negative connotation and are met with groans more often than they’re met with cheers. But every so often, there’s an exciting announcement about certain past properties being revisited that are unexpected and very, very welcome. That’s what Scarlett Johansson bringing back The Nanny Diaries feels like. Before she became a big-screen Marvel superhero and a two-time Academy Award nominee, Scarlett Johansson starred in a number of cult favorite and underrated films, including the 2007 romantic comedy The Nanny Diaries (which also starred her Avengers costar Chris Evans). Fast-forward 21 years later…
Newly “reborn” Christian Russell Brand struggled to find a “relevant” passage in the Bible he took with him to court on charges of rape and sexual assault. “Can I go back and ask you a question about your Bible?” political commentator Piers Morgan asked Brand, 50, during a Friday, April 24, interview on Piers Morgan Uncensored. “Yes, if you want to,” Brand replied after a contentious back-and-forth with Morgan, 61. “Thank you,” Morgan said. “Was that the one you took into court?” Related: Russell Brand Once Called Diddy ‘Very Intense’ in Resurfaced Interview MelMedia/Getty Images; Kevin Mazur/Getty Images Fourteen years…
“Michael” told the rest of the domestic box office to “Beat It,” as Lionsgate’s biopic about the King of Pop easily secured the top spot on the Friday charts. Antoine Fuqua’s “Michael” earned $39.5 million on opening day from 3,955 North American theaters. Early projections have the film grossing a staggering $90 million to $100 million by Sunday. That easily marks the best debut for a music biopic, legging out 2018’s “Bohemian Rhapsody” ($51 million) and 2015’s “Straight Outta Compton” ($60 million). Lionsgate needs “Michael” to deliver a massive payday because it carries a hefty $155 million production budget, a…
This Spanish series, titled Cochinas (translating to “dirty”) in its native tongue and Naughty Business abroad, is the brainchild of writers Irene Bohoyo and Carlos Del Hoyo. All eight episodes of season 1 are now streaming on Prime Video. Opening Shot: Like the beginning of a fairytale, a woman with flowing hair rides across a vast landscape on horseback. Soon, she’s cornered by a man who accuses her of sleeping with her father, and all of a sudden they’re intimate as “revenge.” Just like the setting and aspect ratio suggested, it’s a scene from a raunchy telenovela that the characters…
Lionsgate‘s Michael almost looked very different on screen — and its director, Antoine Fuqua, and producer, Graham King, received even larger paydays after the film underwent major reshoots. As The Hollywood Reporter previously reported, the film’s third act was scrapped amid legal concerns tied to a prior settlement involving one of Jackson’s accusers. The Jackson estate paid for extensive reshoots to reshape the film. According to a Bloomberg report published Friday, just as Michael danced its way into theaters, Fuqua and King were initially set to earn $10 million and $6 million, respectively, for directing and producing the biopic about…

Jennifer Aniston is continuing to film The Morning Show season 5! The 57-year-old Emmy-winning actress appeared to be shooting a red carpet scene of some sort on Friday (April 24) in Los Angeles. She was seen in an elegant, floor-length gown and holding a clutch on a set designed to look like a busy red carpet setting. It seemed like her character, Alexandra “Alex” Levy, was there to promote something and field questions from reporters. Earlier this week, Jennifer was spotted on set in a stylish black leather trench coat with sunglasses and a crossbody bag, so this scene is…
Picture Credit: Netflix Zach Galifianakis is best known for his iconic role in The Hangover films. Others will recognize him from the brilliantly awkward interviews in Between Two Ferns, where he dismantles celebrity guests in his own offbeat way. In This is a Gardening Show, he proves why he is so unique, this time in a setting you wouldn’t normally expect: gardening, together with experts and children. Strangely enough, it works. In fact, it works remarkably well. What you get is effortless, easygoing entertainment that you can burn through in a single evening. The episodes are short, the tone is…
Connor Tomlinson & Georgie Harris: SplitThey’ll always have London. But shortly after Connor Tomlinson and Georgie Harris hopped over the pond for a July 2025 vacation, they decided to say ta-ta to their romance. “Dating and relationships can be difficult and complicated, and as you spend more time with a person, you may learn they are not the perfect match,” he explained to Netflix’s Tudum, noting that he wasn’t able to ignore some of their “stark differences.” Still, things are looking up, up, up for both of them. After a KPop Demon Hunters rewatch, Connor is eager to take on…
While Over Your Dead Body marks Jorma Taccone‘s first directorial outing since Popstar: Never Stop Never Stopping (2016), he had no Lonely Island references planned for the movie. Taccone revealed that one line in Over Your Dead Body, now in theaters, which nods to the music mockumentary, came as a piece of improvisation when Juliette Lewis‘ Allegra calls Dan (Jason Segel) a “motherfucking, titty-sucking, two-ball bitch,” a lyric from the Popstar group Style Boyz’s song ‘Rock Roll Skate’. “And by the way, that was Juliette improv-ing,” he told SlashFilm, noting he hadn’t even realized it was a Popstar reference. “And…
