When Beef first arrived on Netflix, it felt like lightning in a bottle. The first season was sharp, tightly written, and really entertaining to watch. It told a complete story, wrapped its themes with precision, and ended in a way that felt intentional. So when Beef season 2 was announced, excitement was quickly followed by hesitation. Could a show that worked so well as a self-contained story really justify a continuation? Now that the second season has arrived, that question feels more relevant than ever. While the new installment has some strengths, it also highlights a growing problem in modern television.…
Will history repeat itself? Shawn Hatosy brought home an Emmy Award as a guest actor as night-shift attending Dr. Jack Abbot for Season 1 of The Pitt; his heart-to-heart with Dr. Michael “Robby” Robinavitch (Noah Wyle) in the season finale of Season 2 couldn’t make a better case for a repeat. It can be unbearable and brutal and ugly and heartbreaking but it’s also…
More from the Oscar front at CinemaCon. At the recently concluded 98th Academy Awards Paramount Pictures had exactly zero Oscar nominations. That is not a great lead into David Ellison’s Skydance takeover of the fabled studio behind such Best Picture winners as The Godfather, Terms Of Endearment, The Godfather Part II, Titanic, Forrest Gump, and even the first Oscar winning Best Picture, Wings. So, as the studio says they are still in a state of transition and getting new slates together, I did not walk into this morning’s presentation at CinemaCon expecting much of anything, other than a bunch of…
TVLINE | That final conversation between Robby and Samira — where he says he thought he’d be married with two kids in college by now, and then sort of shrugs it off — is there truth in what he tells her, or is that just another version of the life he feels he missed? I think it’s a little bit of both. Some of that is what he had hoped for at one time — to have a family, children. He was so focused on his work and medicine. He had relationships, but some didn’t work out. Suddenly he’s 53, and…

The actress, who became a prominent sex symbol of the 1990s and 2000s with her roles in American Pie and Scary Movie, among others, recently told People that she’s launching an OnlyFans account to reclaim control of her narrative after working in Hollywood. “I’ve spent my entire career working in Hollywood, where other people controlled the narrative and the outcome of my career. This new chapter is about changing that, showing off a more sexy side no one has seen, and being closer to my fans,” Elizabeth said of her reasoning…
