Netflix’s romance films are often hit-or-miss, so subscribers usually have to look forward to the streamer’s licensed content for something actually worth watching. We’re talking about the oldies. You know, the tried-and-true favorites.

Every month, Netflix releases a bunch of licensed shows and movies on its platform. In June 2026, the streaming giant will be adding many romance films. However, there’s one particular addition that stands out from the rest. This romance movie was hugely popular when it hit theaters back in 2014, and fans still talk about it to this day.

Perhaps you remember seeing The Fault in Our Stars on the big screen many years ago. Well, it’s returning to Netflix next month!

The Fault in Our Stars is set for a June 2026 release on Netflix

So, what release date did Netflix actually give The Fault in Our Stars? The good news is that subscribers will get to see the film on the platform in early June. We’re talking the first of the month! In other words, The Fault in Our Stars is coming to Netflix on Monday, June 1, 2026. That’s when you’ll be able to see Hazel and Gus’s heart-wrenching love story unfold.

Netflix has even posted a notice on the movie’s title page letting viewers know it’s coming on Monday. That said, it’s pretty official that The Fault in Our Stars will be returning to Netflix’s library soon. If you’re looking forward to watching this film, it’s best that you hit the “Remind me” button on the title page. That way, you’ll be notified exactly when it drops.

With so many new movies and shows being added to Netflix every day, it’s easy for some titles to slip through the cracks. However, The Fault in Our Stars is definitely not one you’ll want to overlook!

For those who have absolutely no idea what this movie is about, we’re about to give you a brief breakdown. Josh Boone directed The Fault in Our Stars from a screenplay co-written by Scott Neustadter and Michael H. Weber. It’s based on the best-selling YA novel of the same name by John Green, and tells the love story between a terminal cancer patient named Hazel Grace Lancaster and a charming fellow cancer survivor named Augustus “Gus” Waters.

After meeting at a cancer patient support group, Hazel and Gus eventually bond and become friends. As most romance movies go, a romantic connection forms between the two. But they soon find their budding relationship tested by the harsh realities of their illnesses.

Shailene Woodley takes on one of the leading roles as Hazel, while Ansel Elgort stars opposite her as the other lead, Gus. The cast is also made up of many other gifted actors, such as Laura Dern, Sam Trammell, Nat Wolff, Willem Dafoe, etc.

Without going into spoiler territory for those who have never seen this movie, it’s worth mentioning that The Fault in Our Stars is not one of those happy-go-lucky type of romance films. It’s a tearjerker, so tissues are definitely needed. However, don’t let this deter you from watching it.

The Fault in Our Stars is hands down one of the best romance movies ever made. In addition, it’s one of the best book-to-movie adaptations. So if you read the novel, you won’t be disappointed!
