During Disney’s upfront presentation Tuesday, actor Paul Bettany announced that VisionQuest will premiere Oct. 14 on Disney’s streaming platform, according to a report from Deadline.
The series is the latest chapter connected to WandaVision and follows Bettany’s character, Vision. Marvel has described the project as the conclusion of a trilogy that also includes WandaVision and Agatha All Along.
The new show is expected to pick up after the events of WandaVision, where Vision returned following his death in 2018’s Avengers: Infinity War. According to the report, the series follows Vision as he attempts to recover his memories and reconnect with his humanity.
Disney also screened a trailer for advertisers and media buyers during the presentation. The footage reportedly teased connections to the earlier series and included the return of James Spader as Ultron.
Additional cast members include Todd Stashwick as Paladin, described as a mercenary and assassin tied to Vision’s technology. Faran Tahir is also returning as Raza, the Ten Rings leader first introduced in 2008’s Iron Man.
Deadline also reported that Lauren Morais and Diane Morgan joined the cast. Morais is expected to play Lisa Molinari, a character connected to Thomas Shepherd, played by Ruaridh Mollica. Morgan will portray an associate of Paladin. Disney has not yet announced how many episodes VisionQuest will include.
Marvel Studios has continued expanding its streaming lineup through Disney+ as the company builds interconnected stories between theatrical releases and original television series. WandaVision, which debuted in 2021, became one of Disney+’s breakout Marvel projects and led to several follow-up productions tied to its characters and storylines.
With VisionQuest now set for an October debut, the series is expected to answer lingering questions left behind by WandaVision while continuing Marvel’s push to connect its Disney+ projects more closely with the larger cinematic universe. More details, including a full trailer and episode count, are expected in the months leading up to the premiere.
