The Evil Lawyer Netflix Everything We Know

An incredibly exciting new Thai courtroom drama, The Evil Lawyer (known locally as ทนายปีศาจ), starring Ratha Phongam and Nat Kitcharit, is coming to Netflix on June 11, 2026. With the main trailer officially out today, here’s everything we know about The Evil Lawyer on Netflix.

The Evil Lawyer is an upcoming Thai Netflix Original series directed by Nottapon Boonprakob (the award-winning director behind Mad Unicorn). The ambitious courtroom drama is produced by Songphon Jantharasom and is built from an original concept by Jakkarin Thepvong, who also pulls triple duty as co-director and co-writer.

We’ve also learned that the series is being produced in partnership with underDOC Film. Rounding out the talented writing room alongside Boonprakob and Thepvong are Sureechay Kaewses, Pannaporn Watthanapong, Usicha Udomsak, and Sopana Chaowwiwatkul.

When is The Evil Lawyer coming to Netflix?

The Evil Lawyer will premiere globally on Netflix on June 11, 2026.

As part of Netflix’s massive push to expand its footprint in Southeast Asia, The Evil Lawyer stands out as one of their premier crime dramas for the year. You can set a reminder on Netflix here.

The series joins a number of other high-profile releases from Thailand for 2026, including the already released My Dearest Assassin, with more to come, including Empress of Flames, Delusion, Overacting, and The Debt Collector.

Here’s the first look trailer (a full version with English subtitles and dub can be found within Netflix):

What is the plot of The Evil Lawyer?

Billed as Thailand’s first courtroom drama of this massive scale, the series moves away from conventional, tidy legal procedurals. While a central murder mystery serves as the show’s emotional spine, the narrative will actually span multiple interconnected cases designed to expose the dark, systemic vulnerabilities of the Thai legal landscape.

Netflix has provided the official synopsis for The Evil Lawyer:

“When a principled young lawyer becomes the prime accused in the murder of a high-ranking police officer’s son, he is forced to team up with the “Evil Lawyer,” exploiting every legal loophole to prove his innocence.”

Director Nottapon Boonprakob teased that the series is intentionally designed to leave audiences sitting in uncomfortable gray zones: “We wanted this series to push audiences toward questions with no easy answers — about the justice system, its loopholes, society, and moral boundaries… so that the lack of answers leads to more questions and continuous reflection.”

Who are the cast members of The Evil Lawyer?

The Evil Lawyer features an elite ensemble pairing seasoned veterans with rising stars, many of whom are portraying deeply desperate and morally compromised characters.

Rhatha Phongam leads the series as Jittri, the titular “Evil Lawyer.” Infamous for exploiting loopholes and bending rules to win at all costs, she takes Mek’s case for free on one strict condition: he must come to work for her. Phongam is a beloved Thai singer and actress known for films like Only God Forgives and Fistful of Vengeance.

Nat Kitcharit plays Mek, an idealistic young lawyer who firmly believes the law protects the vulnerable. His world shatters when he is framed for murder and forced to compromise his morals to survive. Kitcharit previously starred in leading roles in Netflix’s Thai dramas Delete, Hurts Like Hell, and Terror Tuesday: Extreme.

Atchareeya Potipipittanakorn plays Ang, a sharp, rising politician and dedicated human rights lawyer. Her only appearance in a Netflix project so far was a guest spot in Doctor Climax.

Here is the remaining supporting cast of The Evil Lawyer:

  • Phollawat Manuprasert as Rit, Mek’s father. He is a high-ranking judge forced to choose between rigid judicial principles or protecting his son.
  • Songsit Roongnophakunsri as Anan, a ruthlessly powerful police chief demanding swift vengeance.
  • Paopetch Charoensook as Techin, Anan’s only son, whose high-profile murder kicks off the conspiracy.
  • Two Popetorn
  • Sarinrat Thomas

Years in the Making: Authenticity & Research

To ensure the legal strategies, loopholes, and courtroom theatrics are completely authentic, the creative team spent several years in heavy development. The writers regularly embedded themselves in real Thai courts, consulted extensively with active lawyers, judges, prosecutors, and NGO workers, and had dedicated legal experts audit every single script line. Expect a gritty, highly realistic dive into institutional power dynamics where the line between “good” and “evil” is completely erased.
