This fall, fans will return to Middle-earth for the third season of The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power. Amazon has officially announced a Nov. 11, 2026, premiere date for the Prime Video series. From casting updates to plot teasers, here is everything you need to know about the upcoming season.
THE PLOT
Picking up several years after the climactic events of Season 2, the third installment arrives at the height of the War of the Elves and Sauron. The stakes couldn’t be higher as the Dark Lord seeks to craft the One Ring — the ultimate weapon he needs to tip the scales of war, bind all peoples to his will, and finally claim dominion over Middle-earth.
THE CAST
The cast for The Rings of Power Season 3 features a mix of returning characters and newcomers. Jamie Campbell Bower and Andrew Richardson are joining as series regulars, while Eddie Marsan, Zubin Varla, and Adam Young also join the ensemble. The returning cast includes Charlie Vickers (Sauron), Morfydd Clark (Galadriel), Robert Aramayo (Elrond), Daniel Weyman (The Stranger), and Cynthia Addai-Robinson (Míriel).
THE CREATIVE TEAM
At the helm of The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power Season 3 are showrunners and executive producers J.D. Payne and Patrick McKay. The executive production team also includes Lindsey Weber, Justin Doble, Kate Hazell, and director Charlotte Brändström. Rounding out the production staff are producer Matthew Penry-Davey and co-producers Ally O’Leary, Tim Keene, and Andrew Lee. The series is produced by Amazon MGM Studios.
