Game 6 featured the very best and very worst of the Magic. Orlando had a 22-point lead going into the second half; the series was practically over. Until it wasn’t. Led by Cade Cunningham’s 32 points, the Magic had a historically awful second half. Per ESPN, Orlando missed a playoff record 23 consecutive shots and went an abysmal 4 for 37 in the second half, allowing Detroit to rally back and force a Game 7.
Desmond Bane and Paolo Banchero led the Magic in scoring with 17 points each, but Banchero shot 4 of 20 from the field. If Orlando can pull off the Game 7 upset, they’ll be just the seventh No. 8 seed to eliminate a No. 1 seed in the first round. Can the Pistons win their third straight game to advance to round two, or will the Magic rebound from an ugly Game 6 performance? We’re about to find out.
