The Top 10 Movies On Netflix That Are Most Popular Right Now

Netflix is home to an enviable library of movies. From horror, to comedy, to romance, and everything in between, the streamer has all that we could want and more. Each week, Netflix releases a roundup of the most popular 10 films on the streaming service that are getting the most love from subscribers.

Right now, the Netflix original movie Thrash is dominating the chart, alongside some older titles like Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle and Madagascar.

Below, you’ll find the list of top movies on Netflix right now, which we’ll be updating weekly with information about each title and links to our reviews, letting you know which titles to stream and which ones you can probably skip.

    Starring Bridgerton‘s Phoebe Dynevor, the new Netflix survivalist thriller Thrash follows a group of South Carolina residents who get trapped in a flood during a Category Five hurricane. But the disaster gets worse when they realize the waters are infested with bloodthirsty sharks. Dynevor stars as a heavily pregnant woman who was recently abandoned by her baby’s father and is on her own to survive the sweeping flood, until a teenager comes to her aid. Whitney Peak and Djimon Hounsou also star in the new Netflix thriller.

  2. HALLOWEEN ENDS STREAMING MOVIE PEACOCK REVIEW

    Hailing from filmmaker David Gordon Green comes this 2022 installment of the iconic horror franchise, Halloween Ends. Jamie Lee Curtis returns as Final Girl Laura Strode, who is living in Haddonfield, Illinois with her granddaughter, Allyson. Allyson becomes involved with a local boy grappling with his own troubling past that sets him down a dangerous path that leads Michael back to Laurie one more time. Can Laurie outrun Michael again?

  3. BEAST, Idris Elba, 2022.

    In Beast, Idris Elba stars as a widowed doctor who takes his daughters Meredith and Norah on a trip to South Africa, where their mother grew up, in a bid to reconnect after her death. But their vacation on the wildlife preserve gets interrupted by a ferocious lion that traps them, forcing the family to try and survive the night together until help can arrive.

  4. JUMANJI: WELCOME TO THE JUNGLE

    The Robin Williams classic Jumanji was remade for the digital age in the 2017 iteration that leans more into the comedy-action of the story. Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle follows four vastly different high school students who stumble upon an old video game system during after school detention. But, after they choose their respective avatars, some of which don’t match them at all, the gang gets sucked into the cursed video game where they must fight for their lives. Dwayne Johnson, Kevin Hart, Jack Black and Karen Gillan star in this comedy from Red One director Jake Kasdan, that later earned a sequel in 2019 titled Jumanji: The Next Level.

  5. IF (2024)

    IF follows a young girl named Bea who is going through a difficult time when she has to move in with her grandmother while her father undergoes heart surgery. As she fears what could happen next to her only living parent, Bea gets recruited by Calvin (Ryan Reynolds) and imaginary friend Blue (voiced by Steve Carell) to help them reunite lost imaginary friends with their original companions. The movie was written and directed by John Krasinski.

    Comedy heavyweights Jack Black and Paul Rudd team up in Anaconda, a self-referential sequel to the 1997 thriller starring Jennifer Lopez, Ice Cube and Jon Voight. Rudd and Black star in the 2025 film as two friends who lead a film crew into the Amazon rainforest to film a remake of the movie they know and love. But their trip takes a turn when they actually come across the deadly animal. Thandiwe Newton and Steve Zahn also star in this comedy, rounding out the movie’s “game-for-anything cast,” as Decider’s John Serba put it in his review.

  7. Black and Blue, Naomie Harris Tyrese Gibson

    Naomie Harris stars as Officer Alicia West, a former army vet who joins the New Orleans Police Department after returning to her stomping grounds. But this officer’s loyalties get tested after she accidentally captures her colleagues committing a murder on tape, forcing her to go on the run. Tyrese Gibson, Frank Grillo and Mike Colter all star in this 2019 drama.

    In this sci-fi classic, Bruce WIllis stars as a cab driver living in the 23rd century who accidentally picks up a bizarre, superpowered stranger who could be the secret to saving the world. Milla Jovovich and Gary Oldman also star in this stylish, unique film from Luc Besson.

  9. The Truth and Tragedy of Moriah Wilson

    The new Netflix documentary The Truth and Tragedy of Moriah Wilson dives into the brutal murder of a pro cyclist who established a reputation as a deeply kind and talented athlete. Featuring interviews with Moriah’s closest friends and family, the new Netflix doc from Emmy Award–winner Marina Zenovich dives into how her blossoming career was cut short by her tragic murder.

  10. KPOP DEMON HUNTERS, (aka KPOP: DEMON HUNTERS), Rumi (right, voice: Arden Cho), 2025

    KPop Demon Hunters is an animated musical about a girl group of K-pop superstars – voiced by Arden Cho, May Hong, and Ji-young Yoo – who secretly moonlight as demon hunters and work to keep the demonic forces at bay. But they meet their match in an irresistible rival boyband who are secretly demons. KPop Demon Hunters is a highly entertaining original animated film from Netflix, complete with original music, an all-star cast, and plenty of humor.
