Netflix has released additional first-look images and the full official trailer for its highly anticipated crime thriller Nemesis, which will premiere all eight hour-long episodes globally on May 14, 2026. Notably, the gripping new drama comes from Courtney A. Kemp, the acclaimed creator and architect behind the massive Power universe.

Nemesis is the story of two men on either side of the law, chronicling the intense collision of what happens when an unstoppable force (an expert criminal) meets an immovable object (a brilliant police detective). What starts as a series that aims to subvert the heist genre at every turn actually gives birth to a deep exploration of what drives us, sustains us, and ultimately destroys us.

The trailer is packed with tense, memorable dialogue that highlights the fierce rivalry between the two leads, along with high-octane police chases and battles. The conflict is immediately established through their opposing worldviews, contrasting the idea that “real men live by our own set of rules” with the assertion that “real men know right from wrong.”

The intensity builds later in the trailer, which clocks in at just under two minutes, “When two people meet, one yields to the other,” and the chilling boast, “See, I’m Prometheus. I bring the fire.” Ultimately, the criminal perfectly captures their deadly, mirror-image dynamic by noting, “He’s not just any cop. He’s cutthroat just like me.”

The series is headlined by Y’lan Noel as Coltrane Wilder, the unstoppable expert criminal, and Matthew Law as Isaiah Stiles, the brilliant police detective. They are joined by series regulars Cleopatra Coleman (Ebony), Tre Hale (Darren), Domenick Lombardozzi (Dave), and Gabrielle Dennis (Candace).

“Tani [Marole] and I are excited to bring a hard-hitting psychological crime drama to Netflix,” showrunner and Power creator Courtney A. Kemp shared when discussing the project when it was first unveiled. “Specific in location but broad in universal themes of right and wrong, love and loss, and loyalty vs. self-preservation.” Packed with thrilling life-or-death stakes, complex family dynamics, and explosive action, the show promises a tense cat-and-mouse game where morals are tested to their limits.

Nemesis boasts a massive ensemble cast, also starring series regulars Jonnie Park (Chris), Ariana Guerra (Yvette), Michael Potts (James), Sophina Brown (Charlie), Cedric Joe (Noah), and Jeff Pierre (Malik). Guest stars for the season include Moe Irvin, Quincy Isaiah, Jay Reeves, Mike O’Malley, Stephanie Sigman, Khalilah Joi, Shane Johnson, Siua Ikale’o, Dawnn Lewis, Mark Feuerstein, and Chris Bauer.

Courtney A. Kemp serves as showrunner, creator, and executive producer of Nemesis. Tani Marole serves as co-creator and executive producer. The executive producing team also includes Chris Selak and Philipp Barnett. Directors bringing the first season’s action to life include Mario Van Peebles (101, 102)—who also serves as an executive producer on his episodes—alongside Millicent Shelton (103, 104), Rob Hardy (105, 106), and Ruben Garcia (107, 108).
