Get your condoms at the ready, because One Night Only, aka the sex purge movie, is coming to digital platforms to buy and rent starting tomorrow.
Directed by Will Gluck (known for his other popular romantic comedies like Easy A and Anyone But You), with a screenplay from the twisted mind of Travis Braun, One Night Only stars Monica Barbaro as a singer who is single and decides to use her “one night” of sex to find true love, after years of getting ghosted. She happens to meet Owen (Callum Turner), a pizza shop owner who’s recently been dumped by his longtime girlfriend (Maya Hawke). Can these two lovebirds make a true love connection in just one night?
Because of it’s absurd premise, One Night Only has become something a meme online. But hey, all press is good press, right? If you were curious about the sex purge movie but didn’t get a chance to see it in a movie theater, you’ll soon be able to buy or rent it online. But if you’re willing to delay your gratification just a little bit longer, then you’ll also be able to watch One Night Only streaming free on Peacock in the next few months.
Where to watch the One Night Only movie on streaming:
Beginning on Tuesday, September 8 at 12 a.m. Eastern Time (which is also September 7 at 9 p.m. Pacific Time) One Night Only will be available to buy and rent digitally on Amazon Prime, Apple TV, Fandango At Home, and more. The price may vary depending on which platform you use to purchase the film, but on Amazon Prime the film costs $24.99 to buy a digital copy, and $19.99 to rent. If you rent the movie, you’ll have 48 hours to watch the movie after hitting “play.”
One Night Only will also be released on DVD, 4K UHD, and Blu-ray on October 20, 2026.
One Night Only is not yet streaming on any subscription streaming services, but we do expect to see One Night Only streaming on Peacock soon, because it is a Universal movie and Peacock is the streaming service owned by Universal.
Peacock currently offers two subscription types: Premium with ads and Premium Plus ad-free. Peacock Premium costs $12.99/month, while Premium Plus costs $19.99/month.
You can save a bit by subscribing to one of Peacock’s annual plans, which give you 12 months for the price of 10. These cost either $129.99 with ads or $199.99 without ads.
Peacock Premium Plus is also available to subscribe to via Prime Video with a seven-day free trial that you can’t get by subscribing directly on Peacock.
When will the One Night Only movie be streaming on Peacock?
You might see One Night Only streaming on Peacock around December 2026.
The One Night Only streaming release date on Peacock has not yet been announced, but you will likely see the One Night Only movie streaming on Peacock later this year. Another Universal release, You Me And Tuscany, will begin streaming on Peacock about four months after the movie opened in theaters.
If One Night Only follows a similar release pattern, you might see the movie on digital in about a month, around early September 2026, and streaming on Peacock around early December 2026. That said, other Universal movies have taken just three, or even two months to come to Peacock, so you may see One Night Only on Peacock even earlier, around November 2026.
When will One Night Only be streaming on Prime Video for free?
You will also eventually be able to stream One Night Only on Prime Video, free with a Prime subscription, four months after the movie streams on Peacock.
This is thanks to the deal between Universal and Amazon that sends Universal movies to Peacock for the first four months of the “Pay 1 window,” then to Amazon Prime Video for the next four months of the window, followed by four more months on Peacock. If our prediction for when One Night Only will be on Peacock is correct, then you should see One Night Only streaming on Prime around May 2027.
This is all speculation. Universal has not had a consistent digital release strategy. It varies by title. If you want to watch the One Night Only movie right away, you can buy or rent the film online starting tomorrow.
