After a successful debut, Netflix swiftly renewed the romantic-sports drama Finding Her Edge. As fans wait with bated breath to learn more, we have a massive update: Season 2 is officially in production with a newly expanded cast! Filming kicked off in August 2026, and we expect the series to return to our screens sometime in the second half of 2027.

Finding Her Edge is a romantic drama series based on Jennifer Iacopelli’s bestselling novel of the same name, which became a viral sensation on TikTok’s thriving BookTok community before being developed for television by Jeff Norton and Shelley Scarrow.

While Season 1 saw Adriana (Madelyn Keys) juggling the weight of her family’s legacy with her own complicated love life, the stakes in Season 2 are getting even higher. This time, the Russo sisters trade their family rink for the cutthroat pressure of Voltage Academy, where every skate could make or break their National Team ambitions. As the pressure mounts on and off the ice, Adriana finds herself increasingly torn between her loyal boyfriend, Freddie (Olly Atkins), and Brayden (Cale Ambrozic), the former skating partner she never truly left behind.

“The world fell in love with our figure skaters in Season 1, and it’s a privilege to be able to continue their character arcs as they swap Russo Rink for Voltage Skating Academy with new loves, new rivalries, and new competitions,” says showrunner and executive producer Jeff Norton. “Get ready for a seriously swoon-worthy, soapy romantic rollercoaster as Adriana Russo navigates life after winning Worlds.”

For more information on what to expect from the second season, you can find more here. We also sat down for an interview with showrunner Jeff Norton, who had some great insights for the second season.

Who is returning for Finding Her Edge season 2?

Lace up, because your favorite skaters are officially heading back to the rink. Returning cast members for the second season include:

  • Madelyn Keys as Adriana Russo
  • Harmon Walsh as Will Russo
  • Alexandra Beaton as Elise Russo
  • Cale Ambrozic as Brayden Elliot
  • Olly Atkins as Freddie O’Connell
  • Meredith Forlenza as Camille St. Denis
  • Alice Malakhov as Maria Russo
  • Millie Davis as Riley Monroe
  • Yona Epstein-Roth as JJ Harmon
  • Elvis Stojko as Kevin

Fans will be thrilled to know that Elvis Stojko, who plays Voltage Academy owner Kevin, has been officially upped to a series regular for Season 2!

The cast is already teasing massive developments for the upcoming episodes. “We’ve got a juicy Season 2 coming this year, and I think the fans are really going to enjoy the new storylines and new characters,” Madelyn Keys shared.

“Everything feels bigger, the stakes are higher, and there are definitely a few surprises I don’t think anyone will see coming,” adds Cale Ambrozic. Olly Atkins agrees, noting, “Freddie’s story is just getting started, and I can’t wait for everyone to see the odyssey he takes alongside Adriana, Brayden, and the rest of the gang.”

Who is behind the scenes for season 2?

Award-winning Canadian author and executive producer Jeff Norton is back as showrunner alongside executive producer and head writer Shelley Scarrow. The writer’s room also features Sabrina Sherif and Jacqueline Pepall.

Directing this season’s episodes are Paolo Barzman (Wynonna Earp, Sky Med), Melanie Orr (Mistletoe Murders), James Genn (Wild Cards), and Jacqueline Pepall, who returns after directing Season 1. The series is produced by WildBrain, with Josh Scherba, Stephanie Betts, and Angela Boudreault serving as Executive Producers.

What does the production mean for the Netflix release date?

With filming wrapping up in December 2026, we can firmly rule out an early 2027 return.
If we use the 11 months and 12 days between the start of filming and the release of the first season as a benchmark, we can make an educated guess about when the second season will drop. With filming having started in late August 2026, Finding Her Edge season 2 could be released sometime between June and August 2027.
