Matt Damon and Pedro Pascal star in the 2016 historical adventure, The Great Wall. This fantastical story follows two European mercenaries as they travel China, only to discover that the country is in the midst of a fierce war against otherworldly monsters. Though the story and Damon’s character has its own flaws, DECIDER’s Joe Reid recommended, “Do your best to ignore those computer-generated monsters and whatever storyline Matt Damon’s character is trudging his way through, and just bask in the colors and movement and scope of Zhang Yimou’s visuals. You won’t be sorry.”
