Prepare for a return to Ice Cove, folks! Canadian comedy North of North is returning for its second season at APTN+ and CBC on September 8th, before heading to stream on Netflix later this fall. Ahead of its debut, the series has unveiled Bruce McCulloch (Kids in the Hall) as a new series regular, as well as cameo appearances from various Indigenous content creators.
Following its hugely successful debut in April 2025, Canadian sitcom North of North is returning to Netflix this fall for its second season. Created by Stacey Aglok MacDonald (Qanurli) and Alethea Arnaquq-Baril (Angry Inuk), the series made history as Netflix’s first Canadian original series. It garnered stellar reviews, winning nine Canadian Screen Awards including Best Comedy Series, and notably still holds a rare 100% Average Tomatometer score on Rotten Tomatoes.
Described as warm and lighthearted, North of North follows Siaja (Anna Lambe), a young Inuk mother navigating life and self-discovery in a small Arctic town , Ice Cove, in Nunavut. After a very public breakup, the series chronicles her highs, lows, trials and tribulations that come with relationships, motherhood, a new job, and every curveball life throws at her.
The official logline for North of North Season 2 reads:
“As winter closes in on Ice Cove, young Inuk mother Siaja (Anna Lambe) is still making bold decisions and even bolder mistakes in her effort to level up her life. The hardest part? Proving to her tight-knit Arctic community and herself, that she’s ready to take charge.”

Joining the cast is Canadian actor and comedian Bruce McCulloch, who’s best-known for being member of the much-loved, long-running comedy troupe The Kids in the Hall. In Season 2, he plays Military Mitch, an instructor who is hired to teach first-aid at the Ice Cove Community Centre.
In addition, acclaimed Canadian singer-songwriter and Inuk activist Elisapie is also guest starring, and will debut a new song to be featured in the new season.
The series has also announced a number of cameo appearances by Indigenous content creators, including: Ashley Callingbull, Braden Kudlun, Chelazon Leroux, Kairyn Potts, Kayuula Nova, Shina Nova and Scott Wabano.

When does North of North Season 2 arrive on Netflix?
North of North Season 2 will first debut APTN+ and CBC on September 8th. It is confirmed to land on Netflix this fall, although no release date has been specified yet.
