Raunchy East-Texan drama The Hunting Wives was one of the biggest, breakout success stories on Netflix in 2025. Produced by Lionsgate Television, the series was quickly renewed for Season 2 — and the new 8-episode season will release as a Netflix exclusive just in time for Thanksgiving. We also have a set of first-look stills from the new season.
For Thanksgiving 2026, all eyes will be on our return to Maple Brook for The Hunting Wives Season 2. The upcoming season lands on Netflix on November 26, 2026. Set in Texas, the fan-favorite follows Sophie O’Neil (Brittany Snow), who moves from Cambridge, Massachusetts, to Maple Brook, Texas, with her family, comprised of husband Graham (Evan Jonigkeit) and their son. At their new home, they aim for a fresh start to their lives; leaving Sophie’s mysterious, traumatic past behind. However, Sophie soon gets involved in a group of mischievous wives, and it’s not long before the vices she tried to move away from begin to resurface.
The Hunting Wives Season 1 was a major success on Netflix, topping U.S. streaming charts and drawing in over 2 billion views in a single week. For a week in August 2025, it was the most-streamed series in the United States.
The ending of The Hunting Wives Season 1 was explosive to say the least. Notably, Margo murdered Abby to hide her affair with Abby’s boyfriend Brad. Additionally, Sophie, in a drunken state, runs over Margo’s brother Kyle in self-defense, throwing the body off a cliff.
The official longline for season 2 reads:
“At the start of Season 2, Sophie and Margo are on the outs. But soon enough, old secrets and new foes force them back together. As they play their dangerous games, the question arises. Are they the hunters or the hunted?”
Ahead of Season 2 in November, Netflix is also rolling out the first season to a few more regions this September, including Belgium. Season 2 is releasing exclusively as a Netflix branded series and will stream in nearly all countries Netflix is available.
