More than a decade after the hit Nickelodeon series wrapped, we are finally heading back to the most elite performing arts high school in Los Angeles. Today, Teen Vogue (though we couldn’t find it on their homepage and we found it only via a Yahoo link) got the exclusive first details and teaser for the highly anticipated spin-off.

Below, we’ve compiled everything you need to know about Hollywood Arts, from the cast and plot details to production history and exactly when you can binge it on Netflix.

When is Hollywood Arts coming to Netflix?

Let’s start with when you can watch: Hollywood Arts officially premieres on Netflix on October 15, 2026.

Netflix has given the series a massive 26-episode order, which is rare for the streaming era. The season will be split into two parts. The first half will debut in mid-October and kicks off with a special two-part pilot combined into one 50-minute premiere episode. The second half of the season will drop on Netflix at a later date.

Note: While Netflix has the initial premiere window, the series is also slated to have releases on Nickelodeon and Paramount+ further down the line.

What is the plot of Hollywood Arts?

Here is the official logline provided for the new series:

“In this all-new series, struggling actress Trina Vega (Daniella Monet) returns to her former high school, Hollywood Arts, as an unqualified substitute teacher, quickly finding herself both clashing with and unexpectedly inspiring a new generation of ambitious and talented students as they learn to find their true path at Hollywood’s most elite performing arts school.”

For fans of the original show, Trina is actually stepping in to replace the recently retired acting teacher, Erwin Sikowitz. As co-creator Jake Farrow and star Daniella Monet explained to Teen Vogue, Trina originally takes the job hoping to use well-connected “nepo baby” students to jumpstart her own floundering acting career. However, she accidentally discovers a genuine passion for teaching.

“Not everyone has to be this huge star to understand what it takes,” Monet told Teen Vogue. “Trina’s not afraid to go for it. That’s a really great skill when it comes to opening up the minds of kids who are looking to explore their own talents.”

Speaking to Teen Vogue, Farrow also added that fans will get to see some much-needed character rehab for Trina: “She’s matured, and she’s become a better and more likable person.”

Who is in the cast of Hollywood Arts?

Netflix and Paramount went through a massive casting search to find the next generation of Hollywood Arts students. Between February and May 2025, over 5,700 actors auditioned for the central roles.

Here is the main cast for the new series:

  • Daniella Monet as Trina Vega.
  • Alyssa Miles as Emmy, a tech producer who is secretly harboring a massive passion for performing.
  • Emmy Liu-Wang as Pepper, a silly, somewhat airheaded, but fiercely loyal friend.
  • Peyton Jackson as Qwest, a musical genius who hides his true talent behind a fake basketball scholarship.
  • Erika Swayze as Jen Z, a sharp-tongued, neglected rich girl.
  • Martin Kamm as Oscar, Emmy’s floppy-haired, self-serious brother who is struggling to step out of his sister’s rising shadow.

Will there be cameos from the original Victorious cast?

While the door is open for legacy cast members (like Victoria Justice, Elizabeth Gillies, or Avan Jogia) to return, Monet told Teen Vogue that most of her former co-stars are waiting to see what the spin-off looks like before they commit. However, What’s on Netflix spotted a very fun detail on the official production sheets: Yvette Nicole Brown is listed as a Guest Star, reprising her role as Principal Helen!

Produced by Paramount Television Studios for Netflix (the series also carries Nickelodeon branding front and center on the newly created page for the series), Hollywood Arts was filmed in Vancouver, British Columbia, between October 23, 2025, and March 13, 2026 with episode budgets reportedly falling between the $1 and $2M range. The spin-off was created by Jake Farrow (a former Victorious writer-producer who also voiced Rex the puppet) and Samantha Martin. Both serve as executive producers alongside Daniella Monet, Shauna Phelan, and Jonathan Judge. Judge also stepped in to direct the pilot.

While you’re waiting, Netflix streams three seasons of the original show, albeit not globally.
