More AMC goodness is on the way to Netflix in addition to the massive new Walking Dead deal! Following a massive wave of additions from the cable network over the last few years, another premium AMC original is getting ready to make its streaming debut on the platform. We’ve learned that the first season of the acclaimed tech satire The Audacity (which will return for a season 2) is officially slated to touch down on Netflix US on August 19th, 2026.

If you’ve been keeping up with our ongoing coverage, you know that AMC and Netflix have become incredibly cozy. We recently covered the massive news that Netflix secured the extended streaming rights to The Walking Dead universe and snagged all 6 spin-off series. This was on top of an earlier mega-deal that brought a massive wave of AMC hits like Fear the Walking Dead, Interview with the Vampire, and Preacher to the platform over the past few years.

(You can check out our full guide to every AMC show currently streaming on Netflix right here).

Now, The Audacity is the latest premium AMC original making the highly anticipated leap to the world’s biggest streamer.

What is The Audacity about?

If you missed its initial broadcast run on AMC and AMC+ earlier this year, you are in for a wildly sharp, cynical, and entertaining ride.

Created and showrun by television heavyweight Jonathan Glatzer—who previously served as a writer and producer on massively complex hits like HBO’s Succession, Apple’s Bad Sisters, and AMC’s own Better Call Saul—The Audacity is a biting satire that takes aim at the sinister and absurd world of Silicon Valley.

The eight-episode first season follows Duncan Park, a self-proclaimed “inventor of the future” and brazen data-mining CEO who is desperate to turn insight and influence into absolute power. But when Duncan and his ethically challenged “performance psychologist” get swept up in a massive data exploitation scandal, their house of cards begins to teeter. The series is an unapologetic look at the “move fast and break things” culture, populated by jaded billionaires, bio-hacked tech bros, and psychiatrist-gurus.

The show boasts an absolutely stacked, all-star comedic cast. It stars Billy Magnussen (Game Night, No Time to Die) as the unhinged tech titan Duncan, and Sarah Goldberg (Barry) as his therapist JoAnne Felder. The ensemble also features heavy hitters like Zach Galifianakis (The Hangover), Lucy Punch (Motherland), Paul Adelstein (Prison Break), Meaghan Rath (Hawaii Five-0), Rob Corddry (Ballers), and Simon Helberg (The Big Bang Theory).

The series picked up a slew of good reviews, at least from critics, upon its release, with The New Yorker writing, “It’s the focus on data harvesting that gives The Audacity its strange verve, born of a conviction that it can make this perpetually overlooked issue an object of emotional investment. Its satirical aim feels spot-on.” Audiences’ scores are a little more down the middle.

By dropping Season 1 onto Netflix just a few months after it aired, AMC is undoubtedly hoping to build a massive, mainstream audience for the comedy just in time to hype up the upcoming second season, which reportedly entered production in Canada in mid-June and will continue through October 2026, paving the way for a 2027 return. It’s a win-win for everyone involved, and virtually guaranteed to crack the Netflix Top 10 as we close out the summer.
