Facing El Chapo (also known as La captura) is an upcoming Mexican Netflix Original crime-action film directed by Chava Cartas (Our Times) and written by Bernardo Esquinca (Pray for Blood), which is based on the chronicle by Héctor de Mauleón. Francisco Gonzàlez Compeán and Sebastián Jurado are the film’s producers for Draco Films.

Inspired by true events, the film follows two police officers, Carmona and Rosales, who pull over a stolen car during what appears to be a routine traffic stop. However, the situation rapidly escalates when they unexpectedly come face-to-face with Joaquín “El Chapo” Guzmán, one of the world’s most dangerous criminals and notorious cartel leaders.
