With Christopher Nolan’s latest film, The Odyssey, on the horizon, some may want to take a look back at his earlier work.

Nolan’s Oppenheimer won three of the four major categories at the 2024 Oscars and seven statuettes total. It also competed with Greta Gerwig’s Barbie (2024). Many, if not all, of Nolan’s films tackle the theme of time as malleable and not necessarily linear. That aspect when applied to Odysseus’ journey in Homer’s epic poem combined with another frequent theme of ego and pride makes The Odyssey is a fitting entry in Nolan’s filmography.

The director has worked with multiple actors and actresses in more than one of his films. Repeat or frequent collaborators include Matt Damon, Anne Hathaway, Michael Caine, Cillian Murphy, Tom Hardy, Marion Cotillard, Robert Pattinson, Gordon-Levitt, Elliot Page and Christian Bale.

Find where to stream 10 (or 13 if you include the full trilogy of Batman films) of Nolan’s best films.
