When Does ‘Big Brother’ 28 Start? How to Watch for Free, Cast

It’s time to expect the unexpected.

CBS’s hit reality series Big Brother returns tonight, July 9, for its 28th season.

As always, microphones and cameras are planted all over the house so fans can tune into “live feeds” and check on what the houseguests are up to, which alliances are forming and which alliances are being betrayed.

This summer, the twist will be Time Trip. Per CBS, the theme “presents a world where rooms, relics, and challenges transport Houseguests across moments in time – past, present, and future. Early twists shake up the game from the very start, and new powers and challenges can disrupt strategy and alliances at any point in the competition.”

The CBS summer staple is hosted by Julie Chen Moonves, and it’s all beginning now; here’s how you can tune in for free.

When Does Big Brother 2026 Start?

Big Brother Season 28 begins tonight, July 9, at 8 p.m. ET on CBS.

How to Watch Big Brother For Free

The only way to watch shows airing live without cable is by using a live TV streaming service. Our favorite is DIRECTV, which comes with a five-day free trial before payment begins.

The most cost-effective way to stream CBS live with DIRECTV is with the MyNews genre pack. When the five-day trial is over, you’ll pay as low as $44.99/month and gain access to 20+ live news channels, depending on the pack you choose.

You can also stream Big Brother live with Paramount+ via Prime Video, which costs $13.99/month after a seven-day free trial.

Big Brother Season 28 Schedule

If you’re a longtime Big Brother fan, you already know: this show is on a lot! Here’s when new episodes are scheduled to air this year, though episode times are subject to change throughout the season (especially on Sundays when CBS begins airing NFL games).

  • Wednesdays, from 8 to 9:30 p.m. ET starting July 15 (Power of Veto competition and ceremony)
  • Thursdays, from 8 to 9 p.m. ET (live eviction episode)
  • Sundays, from 8 to 9 p.m. ET (Head of Household competition and nominations ceremony)

Big Brother: Unlocked is also returning this season. New episodes will air on CBS every other Friday at 8 p.m. ET.

BB superfan Jerry O’Connell is set to join this year’s panel, including Big Brother winners Taylor Hale and Derrick Levasseur, as they react to the past week’s activities and show never-before-seen footage from inside the house.

Big Brother 28 Cast and Houseguests

In addition to the confirmed houseguests below, some more houseguests will reportedly be revealed during tonight’s episode. However, sources have confirmed that CBS reality alums Angela Murray, who spent 73 days on BB26 before competing on The Amazing Race; Rick Devens, a two-time Survivor castaway who was recently on the 50th season, and Survivor 45 sole survivor Dee Valladares, who also competed on Survivor 50 and The Challenge, are part of this season’s cast.

If true, Valladares will become the first person to complete the “Reality TV Trifecta” by appearing on Big Brother, Survivor and The Challenge.

Here’s the rest of the confirmed houseguests for Season 28:

  • Ashley Trail, 24, a bartender from Chicago, Illinois
  • Barrett Pfeiffer, 27, a jumbotron engineer from Austin, Texas
  • Chuk Anyanwu, 27, a supply chain analyst from Dallas, Texas
  • Drew Campbell, 22, a surgical dental assistant from Temecula, California
  • Haley Throgmartin, 29, a telemedicine executive from Wildwood, Missouri
  • Jason De Puy (a.k.a. Salina EsTitties), 25, a drag queen from West Hollywood, California
  • Kamuela “Kamu” Kirk, 32, an MMA fighter from Phoenix, Arizona
  • LaTrice Verrett, 57, a boutique salesperson from Maplewood, New Jersey
  • Lyric Medeiros, 25, an attorney from Honolulu, Hawaii
  • Mallory Aurichio, 24, a rocket scientist from Washington Township, New Jersey
  • Melory Morris, 24, a corporate game show host from Maricopa, Arizona
  • Rome Seymour, 28, a pickleball coach from Delray Beach, Florida
  • Taylor Brown, 27, an elementary school counselor from Deerfield Beach, Florida
  • Yash Patel, 24, a financial analyst from Monroe Township, New Jersey

When Do Big Brother Feeds Start?

Big Brother live feeds are scheduled to turn on tomorrow, July 10, at 9 p.m. ET. As always, you’ll be able to keep tabs on the houseguests 24/7 with Paramount+ and Pluto TV.
