Vin Diesel took to Instagram on Thursday to give fans a behind-the-scenes look at “Fast Forever,” the 11th and final film in “The Fast and Furious” franchise. It hits theaters on March 17, 2028.

“I’m on set. People are grinding. Incredible crews are working,” said Diesel in the post. “I just wanted to take a second to say thank you. You guys are the best audience in the world, best fans in the world. You’ve been patient to the industry, you’ve been patient to the studio and you’ve been patient with me. Over the past three and a half years, we’ve been grinding to try to make the most amazing finale.”

Diesel said that he’s “been lucky to embark on other characters” during the wait for “Fast Forever.” He gave a special shout-out to the “Rock ‘Em Sock ‘Em Robots” movie, which he will star in and write for Mattel Studios.

He added, “But through it all, one thing I know is, I can feel your support, and that means the world to me. So, let me get back to this filming, and just know that I hope to make you all proud.”

Since its launch in 2001, the “Fast and the Furious” series has grossed over $7 billion at the box office, making it Universal’s highest-grossing and longest-running franchise. “Furious 7” was the best box office performer of the bunch with $1.5 billion worldwide.

Back in May, Universal unveiled that a “Fast & Furious” TV show was in the works at Peacock. The announcement was made by Diesel at this year’s NBCUniversal upfront presentation.

“For the last decade, we have realized that the fans have wanted more,” Diesel said. “They wanted us to expand the legacy characters, their stories. And for the last decade, the desire has been for us to enter the TV space that Fallon has mastered. And I had to wait till it was right… It became right when Donna Langley started to oversee it all, because that’s when I knew that the integrity of the characters, the international appeal, what makes us all feel like family would be protected in the TV space… The news that I have here today is that Peacock is launching four shows from the ‘Fast and Furious’ universe.”
