With Phase 1 of Emmy voting underway, the entire TV industry is getting ready for its biggest award show, and for its part, the Television Academy is setting the table with plans for the nominations announcement.
When will this year’s Emmy nominations be announced? Who will present them? And how you can watch?
Here’s everything you need to know about the nominations announcement for the 78th Emmy Awards.
When will the nominations be announced?
The shortlists for this year’s Emmy Awards will be revealed on July 8 at 11 a.m. ET/8 a.m. PT. And that’s when all of the categories will be announced.
Previously, the Academy had planned to announce the nominations for juried categories a week later, on July 15, but they have since reversed course and consolidated the announcement to one day.
Who will announce the nominations?
Two previous Emmy winner will be on-hand at the nominations announcement to take the first crack at reading all of those names together. Liza Colón-Zayas from The Bear and Jeff Hiller from Somebody Somewhere will be getting up bright and early to read off the nominations.
And it’s possible that they’ll be among the names. Colón-Zayas is once again up for consideration in Comedy Supporting Actress for The Bear, and Hiller scared up some laughs on one of this year’s big breakouts, Widow’s Bay.
How to watch the announcement
On the morning of July 8, the nominations announcement will stream live from the Academy’s Wolf Theatre on the Emmys official site.
